Der deutsche MEP Stefan Bernhard Eck mit dem Führer der Liberalen, Ludovic Orban über die Gesetzgebung betreffend des Strassenhundemanagement.
Als Vertreter der Intergroup on Welfare and Conservation of Animals repräsentierte Herr Eck die Auffassung von mehr als 100 Abgeordneten des Europaparlamentes.
Der MEP wies Orban auf die grauenvolle Behandlung der Strassenhunde in Rumänien hin, die Europa erschaudern lässt und er sprach auch die Frage des unmittelbar nnach dem Tod von Ionut verabschiedeten Gesetzes an. Dieses Gesetz, das unter grossen Emotionen verabschiedet wurde, führte zu richtigen Massakern gegen Strassenhunde. Man muss bedenken, dass Ionut nicht durch Strassenhunde getötet wurdem, sondern durch Hunde die ein privates Grundstück bewachten.
Herr Orban, der zu unserer Freude Vegetarier ist, bestätigte, dass das Euthanasie-Gesetz eine emotionale Komponente hat und versprach, diese Frage mit seinen Parteifreunden zu besprechen. Er erklärte, dass es Zeit für Veränderungen sei.
Der Fall Bursuc – der gelähmte Hund, der von einem Obdachlosen “aufgenommen” worden war und von den Hundefängern in Constanta getötet wurde – der so viele Rumänische und Europäische Bürger bewegte, wurde ebenfalls vorgestellt, um zu zeigen, was für Missbräuche durch die aktuelle Gesetzeslage möglich sind.

Europarlamentarul german Bernard Stefan Eck a purtat marţi o discuţie cu liderul liberal, Ludovic Orban, pe tema legislaţiei privind gestionarea câinilor fără stăpâni.
Venit în calitate de reprezentat al Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals, Eck a prezentat poziţia a peste 100 de eurodeputaţi.
Europarlamentarul i-a atras atenţia lui Orban că tratamentul crud de care au parte câinii fără stăpân din România îngrozește Europa şi a abordat problema legii ce a fost adoptată prea repede după moartea lui Ionuţ, acest act normativ fiind votat emoţional şi a dus la adevărate masacre împotriva maidanezilor în condiţii în care Ionuț nu a fost ucis de maidanezi, ci de câini care păzeau un teren privat.
Orban, despre care am avut plăcerea să aflăm că este vegetarian, a admis că legea eutanasiei a avut o componentă emoţională, și că va discuta acestă problemă cu colegilor săi de partid, specificând că este timpul să se schimbe ceva.
A fost expus și cazul cățelului Bursuc – căţelul paralitic îngrijit de un om al străzii şi ucis de hingherii în Constanța – care a creat o adevărată indignare în rândul cetățenilor români și europeni, arătând ca prezenta lege permite astfel de abuzuri.

German MEP Bernard Stefan Eck held a discussion with the Liberal leader Ludovic Orban, on the legislation regarding the management of the stray dogs’ situation.
As a representative of the Intergroup on the Welfare and Conservation of Animals, mr. Eck presented the position of over 100 MEPs.
The MEP pointed out to Orban that the cruel treatment of stray dogs in Romania are shuddering Europe and he also addressed the issue of law which was adopted too quickly after the death of Ionuţ, this bill being emotionally voted and resulted in real massacres against the stray dogs, considering that Ionuţ was not killed by stray dogs, but by dogs that were guarding a private property.
Mr. Orban, who we had the pleasure to find out that he is a vegetarian, admitted that the euthanasia law had an emotional component and said that he would discuss the issue with his party collegues, stating that it is time that something changes.
The case of Bursuc – the paralytic dog that ‘adopted’ by a homeless man, and killed by the dog catchers in Constanta – which outraged so many Romanian and European citizens, was also exposed, showing that the actual law allows such abuses.
